International Day of Happiness

What makes you happy?

The RGO Library & Learning Commons celebrated International Happiness Day on March 20. 

Students shared their concept of happiness on the Happiness Wall. 

A Book display of books related to Happiness was also created.

Cyber Safety Awareness Event: March 6 to March 16

Cyber Safety Awareness Event organized in the library turned out to be a real   success. Interractive activities were organized to inform students about 
cyber safety. 

The main focus areas were: 

  • Phishing emails
  • Logging out of library computers
  • Social Media
  • Online Shopping
  • Secure Passwords

March 8 and March 14: Safe and Unsafe Sort: Pick the cards and put them under right heading

March 12: Questionnaire: How Cyber Smart are you?

Long Night Against Procrastination

Need more time and less stress?  We can help.

The library will be open late on Friday, March 23 from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm!

Get extra research, library, and computer support, and take some time to unwind with yoga, meditation, Zumba, ping pong, board games, adult colouring and origami activities.

You can also spend time with therapy dogs in our puppy room, generously sponsored by the Students' Association of Bow Valley College.

Free $1 print cards and refreshments will be provided for all attending students. 

Bagged dinner will be provided to students who register by March 22 at the library or online.

Blind Date with Books: 2018

RGO Library & Learning Commons organised the Blind Date with a Book event on Valentines Day.

Freedom to Read Week 2018

The RGO Library & Learning Commons is celebrating Freedom to Read week 2018 from February 25 – March 3. To celebrate, we will be have a few events staff and students can participate in.

Roaming Library on Banned Books and Censorships
Thursday, March 1, 11am – 1pm
North Campus 2nd floor atrium

To commemorate the more than 100 books, magazines and graphic novels that have been banned or challenged in Canada over the past decade, the Library will have a display in the 2nd floor atrium of the North Campus. Stop by the display to learn about banned books and censorship in Canada and borrow some of these books.

Freedom to Read Week crossword challenge
Come by the library to pick up a Freedom to Read Week crossword puzzle (two difficulty levels are available). Complete one of the crosswords and submit it to the library to be entered into a prize draw to win a USB or a library print card.
